Week 11 Bets:
Panthers @ Lions -4.5 (-110)
The Lions are on a 3-game losing streak, granted those were against respectable Seahawks, Vikings, and Bears teams. I don’t see them turning it around against the Panthers. All of those losses were by 12 or more. My guess is that the good coaches in the league have figured out this Matt Patricia- led team. I don’t view Patricia as a good coach. The Panthers are good and they have a good coach so I don’t think 4.5 will be too hard for them.
Steelers @ Jaguars -6.0 (-105)
How do you not take this? The Jags are on a 5-game losing streak and 4 of those 5 losses have been at least 6 points. The Steelers are on a 5-game winning streak and all of those wins have been at least 6 points. I think some people are still holding on to the fact that the Jags had a great defense last year. For whatever reason, the defense is great no more. Home field advantage be damned, the Steelers will make 6 no problem.
Redskins vs. Texans +3.0 (-110)
In the NFL, I am a big believer in the fact that in order to be a good team, you need to have a good offensive line. The Texans do not have a good offensive line. Now, they have a good offense otherwise, but they are not as good as their 6-3 record suggests. The Redskins (also 6-3) at home should be able to come within 3 of this Texans team that has had 4 games already this year decided by 3 points or less.
Buccaneers @ Giants +1.5 (-110)
I know neither of these teams is good, but I just feel like the Giants shouldn’t be favored here. The Giants have a bad defense, having never held an opponent to under 20 points this year. You should get that at least once by accident, right? The Bucs I would say have a slightly better offense and a slightly better defense. They will score in this game and my bet is that New York will just score a little less.
Vikings @ Bears +2.5 (-105)
Oh boy, this is a great match up. I think the Vikings are better than the Bears and this is where they prove it. The Bears schedule has been cake recently (not that the Vikings has been super tough either) and they are about to get punched in the mouth. This match up could end up determining who wins the division, so you know that both teams will be going for it. I’m not sure if Bears QB Mitch Trubisky can handle that so I expect Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and his defense to feast.
